Position announcement: 
GBOP seeking Okanogan County Field Coordinator

Wildlife Program Coordinator

Half-time position coordinating outreach activities of a program in the Methow and Okanogan Valleys. Minimum education and experience include a bachelor’s degree and two years experience planning and implementing community programs.  Pays $15/hour incl.  Must have dependable transportation (0.35c/mile reimbursed) and must reside in project area.  Email resume, letter and references to insight@insightwildlife.com or call (360) 734-6060.

More information about the position:

  • The Grizzly Bear Outreach Project (GBOP) promotes an accurate understanding of grizzly bears and their recovery in the North Cascades Ecosystem through community education and involvement.

  • This position will focus on communities in Methow and Okanogan valleys.

  • Position includes conducting one-one meetings with the public, arranging and managing kitchen meetings (small groups), a community coalition, slide programs, school activities, brochure distribution, other educational events, working closely with community members etc.

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree and 2 years environmental education experience.

  • Person must be a self-starter, and someone who can work diligently without close supervision.

  • Wildlife knowledge/experience is important.

  • Teamwork and flexibility essential.

  • Internet access critical.

  • Half-time position. $15 per hour inclusive.

  • Hours flexible. Some weekends, some evenings – depends on audience needs.

  • Travel time is included in paid time.

  • Mileage is compensated at 0.35c/mile. Need a dependable car.

  • Position begins September 2004. Initial position 6 months, extension possible pending review and project funding status.

  • Interviews being held mid-August 2004.
